Pre-trip Preparation

Hi all,
We are the Hong Kong Twinning Programme 2009 blogger team.

A total of 20 students will be participating in this year twinning Programme from 26 Oct to 4 Nov 2009.

We are very excited and eager to bring you highlights of this learning journey. So make sure you visit our blog regularly to receive the latest news and updates.

For our very first post, we would like to report on the souv
enir which we will be presenting to Lai Chack Middle School.

The artwork is painstakingly handmade by our art & craft students.

Below is a write-up on the significant of the artwork provided by Ira, the teacher who came up with the design idea.

"This artwork is produced by hand, through the process of matting, meshing and rubbing loose pieces of sheep wool together, using soap as a binding agent. The resulting felt cloth is a beautiful, sturdy and strong fabric. In the same way, through the collaboration and teamwork between the twinning schools, we hoped to produce a lasting friendship and sturdy bond that is both meaningful and magnificent.

The flowers depicted in the designs are varied; yet, the composition is held together by similar colours used in each square. This demonstrates that while the two schools in the twinning programme have their own unique cultures and values, they both share the same objectives in nurturing students and inculcating common values, even though they are imparted in different ways between the two schools.

The vibrant colours used illustrate the warmth and synergy between the two parties in the twinning programme.
